My Story

MAC Headshot square 2

After starting my journey to become a Naturopathic Doctor, I quickly realized that many of the nagging symptoms that I myself dealt with on a monthly basis were in fact NOT normal.

I was struggling with PMS (no thank you), adult acne (get outta here), and constant bloating (no time for that). I had spent so much time, energy, and money trying every product and quick fix promising to solve my problems and as soon as thought I had something figured out, I’d find myself back at square one.

It wasn’t until I was in naturopathic medical school that I realized I had been going about healing myself the wrong way. Sure, the birth control pill was taming my cramps and acne…but what was causing those symptoms in the first place? And what would happen if I decided to stop taking the pill?

Well I did stop taking the pill, and let me tell you – things got a whole lot worse. My breakouts were constant, my period would skip months at a time, and when I did get it the cramps would be so unbearable that I could barely get out of bed for half the day. I was going through pain killers like candy and knew it wasn’t good for me. There had to be a better option.

Once I learned about root cause medicine and how to properly address symptoms from a whole body perspective, I was able to apply these concepts to my own health (with guidance from my ND of course) and finally get my symptoms under control.

I learned WHY my body was reacting the way it was, and was given the tools to get things back on track. I learned my triggers, addressed hormone imbalances, managed my stress, and found natural, effective ways to deal with symptoms when they did come up.

Throughout the process I gained so much confidence (and energy from adopting healthier lifestyle habits!) that I was able to focus my time and energy in other areas of my life that were lacking.

I’m here now to help educate and empower you to ask the tough questions, dig a bit deeper, and get to the root cause of your health challenges so you can reach your full potential in all aspects of your life. Let’s make your health work for you, not against you.
